A while ago Tom introduced me to Grand Central (now owned by Google). It is a phone number unification service that provides many services such as email, sms notification of new voicemail. Web based voice mail management. Essentially I provide one number to my contacts and the service will ring all phone numbers I have until I pick one up. If I don’t answer then it will forward to voice mail. It will also screen calls and record calls.
I learned today that through the web interface I can click to call people who have left me vmail and select the number to dial from. Grand Central then dials me then dials the vmail caller. This is great because I don’t have to remember numbers to dial up contacts. Cools.
Why can’t I get this at work? Wait I know why…
