My good friends Lance and Tina were kind enough to invite me over for dinner two nights in a row. Not only is this atypical behavior for rational people it represents near criminal negligence in providing comedic material for any guffaw that may ensure at their adobe.
And true to the promise Lance unleashed a major gaff that presented itself to be an irresistible blog opportunity. For nearly two months the Nishihira household has been without the bliss of an XBOX corrupting and deteriorating the frontal lobes of those who partake in its harpy like call. The ‘problem’ was that no audio could be heard from the offensive XBOX. And so for two months the narcotic like lure of the XBOX was without assuage at Lances home.
So being the the good friend that I am and at Lances request I brought over my XBOX A/V cable so that he may determine the root cause that has left him without the intoxicating audio of the XBOX. Now let us walk through the next sequence of steps Lance took to begin this particular episodic journey.
1. Remove Lances current XBOX A/V cable from back of T.V. plug Lances A/V cable into front of TV.
2. Turn on T.V.
3. Turn on XBOX
4. Listen to the melodic jingle of XBOX turning on (what? Yes that is right audio for all to hear).
5. Laugh at Lance for several minutes.
6. Reverse step one.
7. Listen to the melodic jingle of XBOX turning on (oh dear, not good for Lance)
8. More laughter.
Driving home I began to think about Lance’s particular situation and how I could turn this into a rather droll blog entry. The more I thought of it the more I realized this was really not an example of Lance’s addled brain functions but an example of the trust Tina had in Lance.
You see Lance had told Tina and his three beautiful girls that the XBOX was broken and it could not be used. They all trusted him and awaited for him to fix the errant evil machine. That my friends is TRUST pampered by love.
So I guess in the end this is a story celebrating the trust and love the Nishihira’s have for Lance and maybe perhaps my own affection for him…
Man, I’m so glad no one reads your blog. 🙂
I do and maybe I will direct more people to start.
Tom’s Mom here. I read it, too. :)–>
